چکیده

The overuse of nitrogen fertilizers in agricultural production China, resulting negative impacts on the environment, has become a serious issue. Thus, reducing use one top priorities for achieving sustainable development goals Chinese sector. Searching effective approaches to reduce is essential and environmental sustainability. In this study, we selected Yangtze River Basin as research area, owing its critical role production, established price endogenous partial equilibrium model simulate effect reduction from optimization (NUO) efficiency improvement (NUE+). Based datasets 2019, simulation results revealed that 1) NUO helped loss by 6.99% 7.50%, respectively; if changes acreage are considered, then will be less significant; 2) decreased continuously with NUE+, rate was 7.85%, 15.38%, 22.65%, 28.02% under NUE+10%, NUE+20%, NUE+30%, NUE+40% scenarios, respectively, highly sensitive; 3) crop heterogeneity indicated cereals regarded nitrogen-overuse crops more sensitive NUE+ scenarios than oil crops. Accordingly, suggested practical policies incentives necessary, flexible adjustment strategies crop-planting structures, such enlarging cereals, may useful Basin.

Zoning and Analysis of Control Units for Water Pollution Control in the Yangtze River Basin, China

In order to meet the needs of the control-unit-based water pollution prevention problem in China, we proposed a comprehensive control unit zoning method with the combined basic administrative region and objective watershed management. The method can effectively connect the natural characteristics of watershed water sources, three-level zoning of water resources, and comprehensively consider the...

Sediment yield mapping in a large river basin: the Upper Yangtze, China

A number of studies have mapped sediment yield at global or regional scales using sediment load measurements from rivers. However, the suitability of the limited mapping methods has not been fully addressed, particularly for large river basins where the sediment load data were obtained from a hierarchical river network. This study examines some of the issues related to the mapping approaches us...

Analysis of Agricultural Land Use Change in the Middle Reach of the Heihe River Basin, Northwest China

The Heihe River Basin (HRB) is the second largest inland river basin in arid Northwest China. The expanding agricultural irrigation, growing industrialization, and increasing urban development in the middle reach have depleted much of the river flow to the lower reach, degrading the corresponding ecosystems. Since the enactment of the State Council of China's new HRB water allocation policy in ...

Relationship between ancient bridges and population dynamics in the lower Yangtze River Basin, China

It has been suggested that population growth dynamics may be revealed by the geographic distribution and the physical structure of ancient bridges. Yet, this relationship has not been empirically verified. In this study, we applied the archaeological records for ancient bridges to reveal the population growth dynamics in the lower Yangtze River Basin in late imperial China. We investigated 89 a...
